Pricing and odds
How to read the numbers on a pack, and what they do and do not promise.
Odds are per pack, and they are absolute
Every tier shows a real percentage. We never round a rare tier down to 'under 1%'. A 0.1% chance is written as 0.1%, because the difference between 0.99% and 0.01% matters to the person paying.
Reading expected value honestly
Expected value is the average outcome over a very large number of openings. It is a fair way to compare two packs and a poor way to predict your next one.
Most openings land in the common tiers. That is what makes the rare ones rare.
Each pull is independent
A run of bad luck does not make the next pull better. The published odds describe every single opening, not a schedule that owes you anything.
Value and buyback are two different numbers
The odds table shows assessed market value. Buyback is what we pay to take the card back. Both are visible before you buy, so the gap is something you can price in rather than discover.
